With the Hypatia Fellowship, Radboudumc can offer you the following:
- Tenure track: A four- to five-year contract with excellent prospects for tenure. Successful fellows may progress to a permanent faculty position as research group leader within one of Radboudumc's departments.
- €1M research budget: Independent budget and freedom to define your own research line and build your own group.
- Talent support: Automatic enrollment in the Hypatia learning track incl. personal and professional leadership training alongside your research.
- An exceptional academic environment on a single, green campus that brings together Radboud University, one of the Netherlands’ leading research universities, and a world-renowned Max Planck Institute, located in a vibrant university town with a strong culture of innovation and sustainability.
Hypatia of Alexandria built her own school rather than wait for one to be built for her — a scientist who stood by her own ideas, unhindered by convention. The fellowship carries her name for researchers ready to do the same.
Candidate criteria
Who we're looking for:
- A postdoc with a strong, internationally visible track record relative to their career stage.
- A clear, independent research vision; in any field compatible with Radboudumc's research programs; alignment with one of our five Top research programs is an advantage.
- Demonstrated potential to secure competitive research funding and to build a research group.
- Demonstrate excellence in research quality and scientific rigor.
- Show potential for scientific and societal impact.
- Demonstrate leadership potential and the capacity to build a research group.
- No employment relationship with Radboud University or Radboudumc in the past five years.

Applications are submitted through an open international call.

Procedure
The procedure is designed to identify exceptional talent and ensure successful embedding within Radboudumc. The selection process consists of several stages:
- Eligibility Screening
Verification of eligibility and completeness of the application. - Scientific Pre-Assessment
An initial paper-based evaluation of the applicant's track record, leadership potential, impact, and strategic fit with Radboudumc. - Research Programme and Department Matching
Selected candidates are introduced to relevant Research Programs and host departments to explore scientific alignment, embedding opportunities, and mutual fit. - Research Proposal Stage
Candidates who successfully pass the matching stage will be invited to submit a detailed future research plan. - Talent Track Committee Assessment
The strongest candidates will be assessed by the Radboudumc Talent Track Committee. - Final Decision
The final appointment decision is made by the Executive Board.
