The balance between effectiveness and safety in drugs - CBG

Every year, more than 11 million people in the Netherlands use medications prescribed by a doctor. And this number increases even further if you include over-the counter medicines. Our organization, the Medicines Evaluation Board is responsible for approving drugs for the Dutch market and has an important advisory role within the EMA when it comes to products for the European market. The Board consists of 17 experts who, in addition to their work for the MEB, often hold positions in which they treat patients in practice. College decisions are prepared by our 500 MEB employees who are involved in decision-making on a daily basis. In this interactive workshop, we will tell you all about the CBG-MEB and the important work that we do, making sure that patients can rely on safe and effective medicines. You will hear about the different roles, and how these roles contribute to the assessment of the medicine. In the second part of the workshop, you will take on the role of an assessor to experience firsthand how complex and challenging it is to evaluate a medicine’s benefits and risks.

How to Network - Jan van Raaij (Startup Nijmegen)

We all network often without even realizing it, but how can we do it more effectively and confidently? In this interactive workshop, “How to: Networking”, we’ll explore the do’s and don’ts, challenge common assumptions, and show how quickly your network can grow through a few simple examples. You’ll learn to overcome hesitation, understand the real power of connections, and see that your network is closer and more valuable than you think. By the end of the session, you'll feel more confident approaching others, asking for help, and building meaningful professional relationships. Most importantly, you'll walk away knowing that networking isn't just useful, it can actually be fun.
