"This evaluation shows that we are on the right track and that the quality of the research can really make a difference for society. In addition, excellent starting points of attention have been given for the coming years to maintain this quality and make it visible to the outside world. This provides a great opportunity to attract international researchers and to work on the diversity within the Radboudumc research environment.”, says Jan Smit, dean at the Radboudumc.
All the evaluated research themes have scored the qualification good to excellent in terms of quality, social impact and viability. Three research themes were even rated as excellent on all three domains by the committee: Infectious diseases and global health (under the direction of David Burger), Renal disorders (under the direction of Joost Hoenderop) and Urological cancers (under the direction of Tom Scheenen). Meanwhile, the Committee also made suggestions for improvements in some themes, which are actively pursued.
